Meek—real name Adrian Hunter—is a multihyphenate creative with a deep passion for crafting Black love stories. She began writing original short stories at the age of thirteen and was a published journalist by twenty. After graduating from Howard University with a bachelor’s degree in English, she went on to earn a Master’s degree in education, but still felt the tug to write creatively. Today, she works at a large nonprofit, supporting grassroots, girl-serving organizations in their various capacity-building needs. But she still finds time to feed her creativity.​

This shop, Meek's Bookstore, is an ode to her love of the Black experience, particularly in love. Black Love is often misrepresented in the media, especially when others are at the helm of its portrayal. Meek's Bookstore offers honest and positive representations of what it means to be Black and in search of love in all its forms.
