Meek—real name Adrian Hunter—is an educator by day and a writer for life with a deep love for urban fiction and romance. She began writing original short stories at the age of thirteen and became a published journalist at the age of twenty. After graduating from Howard University with a bachelor’s degree in English Literature, she went on to earn a Master’s degree in education but still felt the tug to write creatively. Today she works as a middle school reading and writing teacher in Chicago, hoping to instill that same love of stories in both her students and her readers.

This shop, Meek's Bookstore, is an ode to her love of the Black experience--particularly in love. Black Love is often misrepresented in media, especially when others are at the helm of it's portrayal.
